HTN has a unique medical office practice management system (HERO) that allows client medical offices to:
· perform all routine medical office administrative management functions such as patient registration, billing, scheduling, accounting, sorting and record keeping in a Windows environment;
· maintain all their medical and patient records in an electronic format and transmit extracts from these records to medical authorities and other health providers;
· securely transmit their claims, laboratory requisitions, prescriptions and other trading information over cost effective public or private telecommunications networks to government health authorities, insurance companies, medical laboratories, pharmacies and other suppliers.
· ensure secure access and retrieval of their data electronically.
All of these features are carried out either directly by the HERO software which resides in the computer at the client office, or through connection via modem to the HTN server to transmit or receive information through a unique, state-of-the-art, proprietary network system to or from government and industry trading partners. Access to the network for the medical laboratories, pharmacies, drug companies and other suppliers who wish to connect to the offices of physicians they serve will be charged on a per transaction basis, which over time will become the largest source of revenue to the company. The network software is in place and currently being used by client medical offices for billing to the Ontario MOH. The system is ready to take on medical labs and pharmacies, and discussions are underway to bring these industry partners on line as the critical mass of doctor clients grows.
